Apple Sold Two-Thirds of Smartwatches in 2015

Dennis Sellers for Apple World Today:

"Apple dominated the smart watch market in 2015, accounting for over 12 million units and two-thirds of all shipments according to Canalys estimates."

The Apple Watch is also a faster selling device than the iPhone and the iPad when it first came out. Yet we must continue to insist it’s a flop.

"Basic bands exceeded 37 million shipments for the year. Fitbit set a quarterly shipments record as it led the category. Xiaomi held second place, shipping 12 million Mi Bands during 2015."

I think this indicates that people are still trying to understand how wearables fit into their lives, particularly in fitness. Give it a couple years and I see lots of people upgrading to Apple Watches as the stigma for upscale wearables gradually fades.
